Example Café

Design and build (demo) · 2026

A demo café site, built to show what a café website actually includes — a menu, a live open or closed status, directions, tap-to-call and ordering links. Its look is its own, not the studio’s.

The Example Café menu: coffee, non-coffee and kitchen columns with prices.

What it shows

A café owner does not need a brochure. They need the four things a stranger asks at nine in the evening, answered before anyone has to call: what you serve, whether you are open, where you are, and how to order.

  • A live open or closed status. It reads the visitor's own timezone, so it is true whether they are across the street or across the world. With no script it falls back to a line that is honest at any hour.
  • A menu that can change. Prices and dishes are content, not markup, so moving one does not mean editing a page.
  • Directions, tap-to-call and ordering. One thumb, no pinching.
  • Its own identity. The demo shares no colour, typeface or token with Felume. A client's site should look like the client.

Built with Astro, TypeScript, CSS.

Example Café is a fictional demo, not a client. Every name, price and address on it is made up.
